The deep roots of culture
The artistic roots in Andalusia are deep, and in Osuna, their extension leads us to a wealth of artistic and cultural interest. Even from the motorway, the A92 that speeds you past the town without so much as a backward look, shows that there’s something stirring in Osuna.
Osuna is in the heart of Andalusia and its long history includes both Andalusian and Spanish traditions; a living testament of the different waves of invaders and settlers who have passed through this ancient land. Historical and cultural roots reach back to the first Iberos, about 1000 years BC and ancient ceramic pieces and other utensils have been found within the limits of the town, the most famous piece is perhaps the bull of Osuna, a bronze sculpture that can be seen today in the museum of the Louvre in Paris.
Still, even with the exportation of the ancient treasure, Osuna remains a town of many surprises and, now that Game of Thrones has left its mark, its place in the future is almost assured.
